FIELD NOTES / RACING
BEFORE YOU BUY.
The best first fast RC car is not always the one with the biggest speed claim. Chassis durability, battery access, repairability, common spare parts and where you can actually drive are better first filters. A moderately quick car on a good dirt lot is more fun than an uncontrollable missile in a crowded driveway.
01
Know where you will run
Grass, loose dirt, hardpack and asphalt need different tires and ground clearance.
02
Ask about parts
An inexpensive car can become expensive if a broken suspension arm means ordering from overseas.
03
Build speed gradually
Get comfortable with braking, steering and throttle before changing gearing or power systems.
