Kabolite K966 Hydraulic Loader: Buyer’s Guide, Specs and Questions
The loader is the middleman of a miniature quarry. The real test is how well it fills, carries and empties a bucket—not how yellow it looks.

GoldLand’s Kabolite K966 listing describes a 1:16 hydraulic wheel loader weighing 11.2 kg, with a 7.4V 7500mAh Li-ion pack. The November 1 observed USD price was $1,870. That puts it well above casual electric wheel loaders, but below some larger metal hydraulic machines.
Instead of pretending we have loaded gravel with it, this guide turns the published listing into useful buyer questions and explains what working a loader actually demands.
Compare the facts before the hype.

A loader needs a different job than an excavator
Excavators dig from a fixed position and move the bucket through a large arc. A wheel loader repeatedly drives into a pile, curls the bucket, reverses, turns and dumps. The traction of its tires, turning geometry and bucket-curl behavior matter as much as lift force.
Create a test jobsite on paper: how deep is the material pile, how far is the dump truck from it, and can the loader turn without hitting obstacles? A machine whose scale looks perfect next to an excavator might still be awkward to maneuver if the site is too narrow.
Read the dimensions and weight first
The GoldLand listing reports about 60.9 cm length, 18.5 cm width and 25.2 cm height. At roughly 11.2 kg this is not a hand-held toy. Check doorways, travel cases, desk ratings and the height of the dump-truck bed it will load.
Scale ratios are not enough to guarantee compatibility: real-world models differ widely, and an older 1:14 truck can be shorter than a 1:16 loader. Compare bucket-lip height to truck-side height, not just the scale printed on the box.
What hydraulic ownership adds
A 7.4V pack powers the machine’s electronics and pump; the boom and bucket operate through a hydraulic system. This makes maintenance more specific than with an electric servo loader. Confirm the required oil and whether the system comes ready for operation.
Ask for a video showing a full bucket lifted and emptied repeatedly, not just an empty bucket moving up and down. We cannot verify advertised loader capacity independently, and soil weight changes with moisture. Operating continuously near a stall is not a proper way to test a hobby model.
A cheaper way to learn the workflow
GoldLand also lists the electric Double E E592 Volvo L260H at a lower observed price of $449. Its role is different: it can help you learn staging, hauling and stockpile layout without jumping into hydraulics immediately. It is not automatically a performance-equivalent alternative.
Consider whether the expensive hydraulic feature is central to your enjoyment. If you chiefly want to film a mini quarry, more time operating a simpler machine may deliver more value than weeks waiting for your first replacement hydraulic fitting.
The support conversation before checkout
Ask for the current K966 parts catalogue, a complete included-equipment list and the exact warranty/return terms. The merchant page contains country-specific delivery and tax statements, but your own location may not qualify for those promises. Verify rather than assuming.
Document any claim about warehouse location, turnaround time or repairs in writing. At this ticket price, a reliable service path is a meaningful part of the product.
Five checks that protect your budget.
- Confirm it is the K966 hydraulic 1:16, not a different K-series loader.
- Request a full scoop–carry–dump video with material.
- Measure loader bucket against the intended truck bed.
- Ask for fluid, spares, charger and battery details.
- Check country-specific freight, return policy and repair process.
Frequently asked questions
Is the K966 electric or hydraulic?
The seller describes it as hydraulic. An electric battery powers its pump and controls; the loader mechanism is fluid-powered.
Will a 1:16 loader work with 1:14 trucks?
Possibly, but compare bucket dumping height, bed rail height and working clearance. Scale labels alone do not ensure a good match.
Is this a hands-on review?
No. It is independent research into the merchant specification and ownership tradeoffs, not an owner test.
